Morrin, my youngest sister was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcomaat the age of 6 months. I grew up tagging along with my mother, brother and father to various hospitals, specialists and family doctors. But, I believe I also was exposed to the power of pure self determination and personal will power through my sister. She was a real fighter, both spirtually and physically. She lasted for 8 years in this world- but her impact on my life will be eternal. She would have loved going to a camp that the Ride for Karen raises money to send kids with cancer to. She would have been thrilled at the idea of escaping the seriousness of her illness and hanging out with kids just like her - it would have offered her a chance to be what she really was - a little girl.
