My nephew Drake started feeling bad a year ago. Two months later he was diagnosed with Burkitt's Cell, a form of lymphoma.

Previously a healthy, very active 5 year old, he quickly became lethargic with severe headaches. Nothing could be detected until a lump appeared on his neck. Eight months later, his chemo is finally over and his hair and eyebrows are growing back. He's in remission, and last week my sister held a huge party for the hundreds of people who supported them through this unimaginable journey.

It is with great pride and inspiration that I participate in the Ride for Karen, in honour of my nephew Drake, the Conqueror!
