Diane Batten-Strong, was a woman of many strengths and qualities. When her younger sister Donna was stricken with a severe sarcoma (see the dedication to her) she hid her own cancer diagnosis from her family in an effort to protect them from further anquish. She was a loving mother to Sean, Michael and Andrew, the daughter of Jack and Bette, the older sister to Jo and Donna, wife of Ron and one of the few women on the planet whose relationship with her ex-husband (Cosmas) was so good that the whole new extended family gathered regularly at his home for Thanksgiving dinners. She was a professional writer/editor who worked despite her battle with this illness and found time to be a Scout Leader. Just over 2 years after Donna passed away, Diane left us to join her at the gates of heaven.
