On Keira's 1st birthday (2007) she was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma(cancer of the muscle). It took over her whole quadricep muscle and we soon realized that our life had changed forever. Keira bravely underwent a full year of weekly chemotherapy and also lost her leg as a result. Keira's year of treatment and surgeries was grueling to say the least, but with her big brother Ryan always by her side, the wonderful staff of the Alberta Children's Hospital, and the various organizations that fund cancer research.....Keira is now in remission! Thanks to many, Keira is a typical three year old who goes to pre-school, skiies, skates, and rides her tricycle. Maybe one day she will Ride For Karen. Thank you Cheryl for all of your support!!
