Gary Drury was an employee with the Town Of East Gwillimbury. He was a very dedicated worker and always went out of his way to help others whether it was part of his job or outside work. He was well respected by his co-workers, his friends and the people of the community that he dealt with. Even when he was first diagnosed with cancer he coninued to work many hours until the later stages when it became to overwelming. Gary always had a positive outlook and never focused on the negative things. He passed away on October 3rd 2002. The Town of East Gwillimbury owes a lot to Gary for the hard work and great dedication he gave every day he was here. The town now has a tree at the front of the Mount Albert Community Centre that is in dedication of Gary Drury.
Many, if not all of us have had someone close diagnosed with a form of cancer. This is why we should all find it in our hearts to do what we can to help people who have been touched with cancer. Thanks to the people who have donated to this charity and to the people who are taking a day out of their schedule to help a person with cancer.
