Every so often a teacher comes across an exceptional student. Lida Amin was such a student. Academically she was very bright but that is not why she is remembered. She is remembered partly because she had the ability to light up a room with her smile and to make you laugh with her sparkling eyes. More importantly she will be remembered because of her love of life. No number of operations, chemo treatments or personal pain could every stop her from smiling and caring about her friends. To the very end she thought more about her friends than herself. She will stay in the hearts of all that were lucky enough to have known her. I am doing this ride to remember Lida's love of life, and the hope that we can soon prevent other Lida's from being taken from us.
