The Ride for Karen is an annual cycling event that has raised over $2 million to support children living with cancer.
For the past 12 years, the Ride for Karen has taken place the first weekend of September. Recently, a for-profit event chose the same date (September 7, 2014) for its ride. This is concerning for the Ride for Karen, a completely volunteer-run initiative, where 100% of the funds raised are donated to charity. The Ride for Karen does not have the financial resources to compete with this business’ big advertising budget. What the Ride for Karen does have is a fantastic day of fully-supported cycling, plus the important distinction that 100% of money raised supports children living with cancer.
If you’re planning to participate in a cycling event on September 7, please do it for a worthy cause!
We’re hoping we can count on your participation and support this year to spread the word that 100% of proceeds from the Ride for Karen go directly to charity. Here’s how you can help:

Where were the signs indicating which way to go for the 3 different courses? I set out to do 100k, ending up doing 200k, I was just following the signs. Other then that, it was a great ride.
They were just past the first feed zone in Zephyr. There was a split that showed the direction for 100km / 160km & 200km. It was also on the maps that were provided at the start/finish.
